70 Grand Street was a gut renovation of a loft style apartment located in SOHO. The space was approximately 3,000 sq/ft with two bedrooms and two bathrooms and contains high-end fixtures and finishes.

  • Insulated with cellulose
  • Donation of all existing appliances to BIG for resale
  • Incorporation of reclaimed lumber throughout the home
  • Recycled all metal waste

Custom Millwork

Locations

Master bedroom closet:
Wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling custom-built closet.

Master bed headboard: custom built headboard with storage compartments made from reclaimed wood salvaged from the Brooklyn Bridge.

Children’s Bedroom:

Custom-built bunk beds, resembling a playhouse with a built-in closet, bookshelf and under cabinet LED lighting for nighttime reading.

Bedroom and bathroom doors were custom made with barn door tracking to open and close with ease.

Artistic Features

Foyer

The foyer was inspired by the artist, Donald Judd, consisting of cladding with ¾” plywood and exposed end grains.

Electronic Luxuries

RadiaIRA© powers all electronics within the home, where all lighting and surround sound features are controlled through an iPad, eliminating the need for switches.
